Ideal for slow, indirect cooking at low temperatures, also known as 'slow cooking'. This ceramic heat shield ensures that your Kamado functions like an oven. The plate setter also prevents any flames from hitting your preparations.

A plate setter is also known as a deflector or heat shield.

As you can see in the picture, the deflector should fit nicely into your box or ring (if you have a box + ring setup) and also rest on it.
The dimensions of this box are where the deflector fits in nicely:

Inner Diameter: 30cm
Outside Diameter: 34.5cm

With these dimensions there is about 2cm play, so your box can be 2cm narrower with the inner diameter. With the outer diameter this can also differ about 2cm.

The diameter of the deflector stone included is: 26cm and a thickness of 2cm.

Dimension : To determine the correct dimensions, it is essential to measure the inner diameter of your fire ring. The inner diameter of the fire bowl must be between 28 cm and 31 cm, otherwise the platesetter will not fit into your inner box/ring. Please note: although the platesetter is designed for a 15-inch kamado, you should not measure the 15 inches yourself. This plate setter (elevator with deflector) is suitable for compact (15-inch) kamados such as the Kamado Compact - Jacky, if you have a different brand of Kamado, calculate the dimensions of your fire box/bowl to be sure.
